Jewellery & Watch News
It all started just after George Bamford’s 18th birthday when a chance encounter sparked a new idea. He chose, like half of the guests, to wear his Rolex Daytona to a dinner party. Feeling the need to stand out rather than fit in he decided to customise his watch, altering the steel case with a DLC coating. Impressed with his now black case, many others were too, returning from his holiday in the south of France with 25 orders. Bamford London was born!
The controversial concept that many traditional types disapprove of has seen huge success with Bamford becoming the official ‘customiser’ for top luxury brands such as TAG Heuer, Zenith and Bulgari. Many seek a rare, exclusive finish ensuring that their timepiece stands out on the wrist and Bamford are always ready to deliver with their motto “if you can imagine it, we can create it!” Nothing is too much trouble with their team regularly hosting appointments at their Mayfair five-storey headquarters. Discussing ideas to customise the case and dial to something a little more unique, each customer walks away with a stunning design like no other.
During the personalisation process, Bamford offered the customer their Mayfair design on loan. With many asking to keep the timepiece, Bamford started to sell their own watches alongside their customisation projects. With a trio of designs available – the Mayfair, the GMT and the Mayfair Sport – their collection is going from strength to strength. Of course, each is styled in a variety of colours and variations as a nod to their love for personalisation, which has captured the attention of many watch enthusiasts. Each design brings something a little different to the wrist with the Mayfair inspired by vintage diving watches, the GMT designed specifically for avid travellers and the Mayfair Sport available in all sorts of vibrant colours.
Bamford are a brand that are revolutionising the watchmaking industry, offering something a little different. Following their gut has certainly paid off bringing a new service that allows watch enthusiasts to have an original piece like no other.
