The countdown has begun - it's just 86 days until the first stage Tour De Yorkshire, which is passing through our lovely little seaside town.
The first stage of the event starts in Bridlington, a town just south of Scarbrough, the trail then passes through several towns and villages such as Humanby, Dalby Forest, Pickering, Danby, Grosmont, Robin hoods bay and a few others before visiting Whitby, and finally ending in Scarbrough, after 174km of riding.
The tour is estimated to pass through Whitby at about 3pm, where Scarbrough Council are hoping to set up some stalls and events for the occasion. The schools are even closing early so that nobody misses out on this fantastic event.

The Tour De Yorkshire will hopefully bring lots of biking fanatics to the town, and give the quiet tourism a boost for the start of the year.
