Renowned for its brilliant AMOLED display, stunning case designs, advanced wrist heart rate monitor and impressive battery life, the Garmin Venu 2 returns once again but this time with a new feature fans of voice control functionality will adore. Meet the new Garmin Venu 2 Plus…
The Garmin Venu 2 vs Venu 2 Plus
If you’re already familiar with Garmin Venu 2 and Venu 2S watches launched last year, you’ll already know a lot about the new Garmin Venu 2 Plus. Ultimately, it shares all the same specifications as it’s precursors but with a slightly different case size, better screen resolution, battery life, design options and an additional voice control feature. If you don’t know anything about the standard Venu 2, don’t worry, we’ll cover what’s been passed over shortly. For now, here’s everything new on the Garmin Venu 2 Plus watch.
For starters, the Garmin Venu 2 Plus comes in on the wrist at 43.6mm wide which sits nicely in the middle of the 45.3mm Venu 2 and the smaller 40.4mm Venus 2S. The cases are also engineered from stainless steel including a stainless steel bezel, three crowns and case back. There are three designs in total including the Garmin Venu 2 Pro with Silver Stainless Steel Bezel and Powder Grey Case, the Garmin Venu 2 Pro with Slate Stainless Steel Bezel and Black Case and the Garmin Venu 2 Pro with Cream Gold Stainless Steel Bezel With Ivory Case.
The battery life also differs slightly on the Garmin Venu 2 Plus. It’s a little shorter than its predecessors promising 9 days in smartwatch mode, 10 days in Battery Saver smartwatch mode, 8 hours in GPS mode with music and up to 24 hours in GPS mode without music.
The biggest addition to the new Garmin Venu 2 Pro is undoubtedly the integrated speaker and microphone. To control these, there is the placement of a third crown on the right hand side of the case which allows you to enable voice control functionality. This means you can take or initiate phone calls completely handsfree from your device, manage your smartphone’s digital assistance, call emergency services and contacts and create a setting where an alert will sound if an incident is detected.
More from the Garmin Venu 2 Plus
On top of the new features, the Garmin Venu 2 Plus delivers all the same impressive technical functionality as the original Venu 2 and 2S. This includes a huge host of workout and sports apps already preloaded onto the device including the likes of HIIT and paddleboarding, swimming, cycling and golf. There’s also a huge range of female wellness features that are focused on more than just exercise. These combine workout data with MCT and Body Battery alongside pregnancy tracking, stress tracking, menstrual cycle tracking, breathwork and more.
The Garmin Venu 2 Pro continues to impress with a new and improved Elevate optical heart rate sensor package which promises better accuracy of heart rate monitoring, a Pulse Ox sensor, Stress tracking, Hydration tracking, Respiration tracking, Sleep score and Advanced Sleep monitoring and Fitness Age. There’s also the Health Snapshot feature which allows you to log a 2 minute session to record key stats like heart rate, heart rate variability, Pulse Ox, respiration, and stress.
