About Fabergé Jewellery

Determined to transform his father’s already well-reputed fine jewellery business into a worldwide phenomenon, Peter Carl Fabergé injected bold coloured gemstones and rare techniques like hand enamelling and guilloche to create a range of award-winning jewellery. The Fabergé jewellery collections to this day remain inspired by the legacy of Peter Carl Fabergé, in particular the famous Imperial eggs he created for Russian royalty.

The House of Fabergé was first founded in 1882 when Peter Carl Fabergé took over his father’s small jewellery business alongside his brother Agathon. At the time, diamond jewellery was becoming a little monotonous and customers were dreaming of designs filled with vibrant colour. And so, Fabergé jewellery became renowned for their breathtaking coloured gemstones and stunning guilloche and enamel detailing. In 1885, Peter Carl Fabergé showcased some of his work at the Pan-Russian Exhibition in Moscow. It was here that Tsar Alexander III turned to Fabergé to create the very first Fabergé Easter Egg for his wife, the Empress Maria Feodorovna.

From that moment on, Fabergé and Russian royalty would find themselves cementing a long and reputation-changing relationship in which Alexander III would gift his wife a Fabergé egg every Easter holiday. In total, the House of Fabergé created ten eggs during the reign of Emperor Alexander III and when his son Nicholas II inherited the throne, he commissioned two each year; one for his mother and the second for his own wife, Alexandra Feodorovna. Following this, the House of Fabergé was bestowed with the coveted title "Goldsmith by special appointment to the Imperial Crown".

Even today, Fabergé remains a symbol of opulence and luxury, adorning the bodies of sophisticated women all around the world. Many of their contemporary collections continue to pay homage to the brand’s history, like that of the suitably named Fabergé Heritage jewellery collection which revives the colours, shapes and techniques of the original Fabergé eggs. Each jewelled masterpiece captures the technical perfection and cultural richness that the Fabergé jewellery brand is so famed for, uniting coloured gemstones, diamonds and enamel to create elegant egg pendants, earrings and charms.

The Fabergé Emotion jewellery collection is another fine example of the fine jewellery brand’s prowess. Enchanting with intense colours and daring jewels, the series is inspired by the meticulous craftsmanship of the late Frederic Zaavy, an artist-jeweller who was one of Fabergé’s leading goldsmiths. The exquisite use of diamonds, sapphires, rubies and emeralds is unmatched and speaks to lovers of fine jewellery everywhere. Lastly, we urge you to explore the Fabergé Imperial jewellery collection which takes motivation from the Imperial Romanov court and the rhythms of each Russian season. Each design reflects the colours and atmospheres of each month while the multiple garlands, scrolls and ribbons celebrate the past, present and future of the Fabergé eggs created for the royal family.
