Jewellery & Watch News
The rainbow has become a global symbol of hope, gratefulness and solidarity during a time when we need it most, and to help support and raise money for several COVID-19 related causes, Fabergé have revealed a breathtaking new Fabergé Rose Gold Rainbow Surprise Locket. All profits made from the sales of the stunning new egg pendant, as well some of the brand’s other rainbow inspired jewellery will raise funds for a variety of charitable causes until 31st August 2020.
Helping charitable causes, especially during a crisis such as the coronavirus pandemic, is something that strikes a personal chord with the Fabergé brand. The firm themselves have survived through the Russian Revolution and the First World War, a time which saw many of Peter Carl Fabergé’s clients involved in crisis-led charitable causes. Tsar Alexander II, owner of some of the world’s most coveted Fabergé eggs, established the Russian branch of the International Red Cross. Later under the care of his wife, Maria Alexandrovna became the charity’s supreme patroness and Peter Carl Fabergé honoured the family’s older daughter’s work as a Red Cross Nurse by creating the Imperial Fabergé Red Cross Egg in 1915. For 2020, Fabergé want to show their support and appreciation once again for some of the world’s hardest working charities and workers.
Across the UK, rainbows remain a symbol of gratitude and appreciation for our remarkable NHS and other keyworkers fighting hard during the pandemic. Like the Clap For Our Carers initiative which sees the entire country come together on our doorsteps to applaud, whistle and bang pots and pans for Britain’s health workers, the colourful images of rainbows can be found decorating our windows, brickwork and roads to show our thankfulness and our unity as a country in battling the coronavirus. Rainbows are also the perfect motif to put a smile on peoples’ faces, and Fabergé have done an excellent job at bringing this symbol to life in one of their most famous egg pendant designs.
Inspired by the emblem of hope, Fabergé have given the new 18 carat rose gold egg locket a stunning pastel rainbow colour theme which instantly evokes feelings of calm, happiness, and sincerity. Like so many of the iconic Fabergé lockets, this one opens at the touch of a diamond button to reveal a more vibrant lacquered rainbow hidden within. Colours of red, yellow and blue are detailed with 3 round white diamonds and 1 round Gemfields emerald to symbolise light after a storm. This heartfelt message is also embedded within as 100% of the profits from each sale will be donated to COVID-19 related causes.
Similarly, profits from each Fabergé Colours of Love Multicolour and Rainbow Fluted rings will also be donated. These breathtaking pieces feature a dazzling array of gemstones including diamonds, rubies, sapphires and tsavorites on a choice of 18 carat yellow gold, white gold or rose gold bands. Wear them on their own for an elegant look or stack them together to truly dazzle, these Fabergé rainbow rings are just what we need during lockdown to keep us smiling and to remind us of all the beauty in the world.
