Swiss watchmaker Zodiac has joined forces with cult apparel brand Rowing Blazers, founded by Jack Carson, a member of Harry’s Bar storied secret society, the International Bar Flies. Together, Zodiac and Rowing Blazers have chosen to honour the charming and inclusive personality of the Paris-based cocktail bar by launching a 282-piece limited edition Zodiac x Rowing Blazers x Harry's Bar Super Sea Wolf watch.
If you’ve ever walked the “Sank Roo Doe Noo” in Paris, it’s likely you’ll have passed one of the oldest cocktail bars in Europe. Harry’s New York Bar, which takes its name from a legendary barman known as Scotsman Harry MacElhone and from the original bar itself, which was relocated to Paris from its first home in Manhattan, was originally opened in 1911. Ever since, it has become a hive for distinguished expats and international celebrities serving names like Ernest Hemingway, Coco Chanel, Morgan Freeman, Daft Punk and more. World-renowned American composer George Gershwin even wrote “An American in Paris” in Harry’s basement piano bar. The spot is also the birthplace of famous cocktails like the Bloody Mary, the Sidecar, and the French 75.
Harry’s New York Bar also has its own storied secret society, the International Bar Flies (or I.B.F) of which Jack Carson, the Creative Director and Founder of Rowing Blazers is a member. The clothing and accessories company has previously collaborated with the cocktail bar, creating a line of bottle-green merchandise embroidered with Harry’s iconic cartoon barflies. Now onto their next venture, the duo are joining forces with Swiss watch manufacturer Zodiac to create a limited edition Zodiac x Rowing Blazers x Harry's Bar Super Sea Wolf watch.

So what can we expect from the new Zodiac x Rowing Blazers x Harry's Bar Super Sea Wolf Limited Edition? As expected, much of its spec comes from previous Super Sea Wolf watches with a robust 40mm stainless steel case, a black unidirectional rotating bezel with 60 minute scale, sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective treatment and a 200m metre water resistance helped by a screw in crown. Some new features can be spotted, the most notable being the dial. The dial of the Zodiac x Rowing Blazers x Harry's Bar Super Sea Wolf watch is finished in a gorgeous bottle-green shade and comes decorated in the trio logos including Zodiac’s and Racing Blazers’ up top and the Harry’s Bar emblem and the colourful cartoon barflies logo towards the 6 o’clock position.
The dial of the Zodiac x Rowing Blazers x Harry's Bar Super Sea Wolf Limited Edition remains an essential tool for divers with bright Superluminova inserts placed on the hour markers and hands for the hours, minutes and seconds. It also presents a date window at 3 o’clock. Powering these functions is the STP 1-11 automatic winding movement with a 44-hour power reserve. The movement is kept hidden from view behind a special screw down case back installed with a medallion presenting the Racing Blazers logo. Finally, the Zodiac x Rowing Blazers x Harry's Bar Super Sea Wolf watch is completed by two straps. The first is a suitably retro 5-link steel bracelet while the second is a French military-style #tide strap made from 100% recycled ocean plastic.
