Jewellery & Watch News
As one of the latest fine jewellery brands to join us here at W Hamond, we wanted to give Messika a proper introduction and explore all their breathtaking gold and diamond jewellery collections in detail. We hope that in this guide to Messika jewellery, we can lead you through their extensive range of designs, whether it be their iconic Messika Skinny bracelet or Messika Move diamond jewellery, and who knows, we may even help you find the next diamond creation to join your own personal collection.
The Messika Gatsby Jewellery Collection
Taking its name from the legendary millionaire in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, the Messika Gatsby jewellery collection brings to life the glamour, opulence and freedom of the 1920’s with graphic diamond designs. Each piece, whether it be pave diamond hoop earrings, vertical bar necklaces or stunning diamond rings worthy of being a wedding band, are all evocative of the Art Deco period, enhanced by shades of yellow, white and rose gold and set with only the finest pave diamonds. Some of our favourite pieces in this line include the Messika Gatsby Diamond Bar Bracelets which feature elegant yet discreet solid gold chains and a single solid bar at the centre dressed in 0.25 carats of brilliant cut diamond.
The Messika Move 10th Jewellery Collection
The Messika Move jewellery design is one of the brand’s most iconic pieces, brought to life back in 2007 taking inspiration from founder Valérie Messika’s childhood memories when she would watch her father play around with diamonds, often sliding them between his fingers. This image was reinterpreted into the Messika Move jewellery collection with each piece featuring one or more moving gemstones for an exquisite sparkle. In 2017, to celebrate the collection’s 10th anniversary, the Parisian brand launched the Messika Move 10th jewellery line offering the same floating diamond motif within a selection of bold, multi-row rings, bracelets and necklaces. The designs in this collection are beautifully asymmetric and structured in style making them perfect for those that like to make a statement.
The Messika Move Classic Jewellery Collection
While the Messika Move 10th Anniversary line delivers the moving diamond within a range of bold and graphic designs, the Messika Move Classic jewellery collection does the opposite, opting for more feminine and elegant aesthetics. The chains are kept dainty and minimalist while the centrepiece motif features a single bar with gentle curves which beautifully secures the three moving diamonds in place. The Messika Move Classic bracelets are one of the brand’s best sellers offering creations in yellow, white or rose gold and opting for clean gold lines or examples dressed in additional pave diamonds.
The Messika Move Noa Jewellery Collection
The Messika Move Noa jewellery collection is another beautiful choice for those that like modest and simply sophisticated diamond jewellery. This family bears the name of Valérie Messika’s second daughter and in tribute to her delivers classic aesthetics reinterpreted with sensitivity and elegance. As always, the 18ct gold bands are sculptural odes of light, wrapping around the body elegantly and delivering the iconic golden cage at the centre. The three moving diamonds run up and down with every movement. We particularly love the Messika Move Noa rings in this collection delivering choices of plain ribbons of gold or statement bands enriched with pave diamonds.
The Messika Move Romane Jewellery Collection
Again, named after one of Valérie Messika’s daughters, the Messika Move Romane jewellery collection adopts another style of graphic jewellery with double structured bands of gold dressed in diamonds. Skilfully crafted ribbons of 18ct rose, yellow and white gold are layered above each other to make it look as though you are wearing more than one bracelet or ring. One side of the gold is kept plain and pure while the other is dressed in a line of pave diamonds for a beautiful play of light. Within the duality of gold is the famous moving diamonds; most of the designs feature three diamonds sliding up and down while some of the more opulent Messika Move Romane bracelets elect up to five dazzling brilliant cut gemstones.
The Messika Move Uno Jewellery Collection
One of Valérie Messika’s favourite places in the world, and a country she calls second home, is Italy. In honour of this, she launched the Messika Move Uno jewellery collection which takes the word “uno” meaning “one” in Italian and inspires a range of discreet gold jewellery uniquely adorned with only one moving diamond. Messika Move Uno jewellery is perfect for those just beginning their journey with Messika or those buying their first piece of diamond jewellery. Thanks to their minimalistic aesthetics, many of the Messika Move Uno rings and bracelets can be stacked and layered together for a personalised look. Alternatively, you can find more experimental pieces like drop rings, chain and stud earrings, chokers, hand bracelets and ankle bracelets for an exotic style worthy of its Italian name.
The Messika My Twin Jewellery Collection
Moving away from the famous Messika Move design now and onto one of the brand’s most opulent and glamourous collections. The Messika My Twin jewellery line is named as such for its two contrasting cuts of diamond which meet in the middle of a mass of 18ct gold and diamond. The first is a pear cut gemstone, completely sensual and sparkling, pointed like a teardrop. The second is an emerald cut gemstone, stylised and hypnotic with sharp corners and unmissable facets. Despite being entirely different, they match perfectly in radiance and beauty symbolising our own need to find our own soulmate who is equally different yet familiar.
The Messika Skinny Jewellery Collection
One of Valérie Messika’s first collections was the Skinny Bracelet, a design characterised by its super flexible 18ct gold chain and delicate diamond settings. The style, which was first launched in 1009, remains a flagship in the Paris-based jewellers’ portfolio. The Messika Skinny jewellery collection was born from Valérie Messika’s desire to make diamond rivière bracelets a wardrobe essential and so she innovated breathtaking strands of diamonds deemed entirely flexible thanks to nano springs hidden between each gemstone. As always, you can choose from Messika Skinny bracelets crafted from white, yellow or rose gold with each dressed in a line of white pave diamonds.
