Paying tribute to its roots, Hamilton have extended their American Classic collection with a stunning new three-hand Hamilton American Classic Intra-Matic Auto watch which alongside its intriguing two-tone dial delivers their exclusive H-10 automatic winding movement.
First introduced at Baselworld 2012, the Hamilton Intra-Matic watch collection was a next generation Thin-O-Matic which similarly brought to life a modern-vintage aesthetic with an understated dial, flush mounted crystal and a thin stainless steel profile. It’s sixties-inspired finish has become nostalgic for so many while retaining a much-needed contemporary and practical touch that translates perfectly to modern-day wrists. The new Hamilton American Classic Intra-Matic Auto watch under reference H38425540 does just that, this time with a handsome two-toned blue and cream face.
Boasting a close familiarity to its chronograph counterpart, the Hamilton American Classic Intra-Matic Chrono, the new three-hand auto model presents a stunning ocean-blue dial with a beautifully contrasting cream minutes ring defined by its clean and simple execution. At the centre, baton-style Superluminova hands for hours and minutes are paired with a sleek seconds hand and rectangular applied markers also decorated in lume. In black, five minute intervals for the minutes are adorned in Arabic numerals while exact minutes are presented by singular markings. The Hamilton American Classic Intra-Matic Auto watch secures perfect symmetry with the addition of a date window at 6 o’clock neatly boxed in by a white border.
Hamilton have been an innovator of movements since their founding in 1892 and in 2015, they unveiled their H-10 automatic winding movement, a highly modified version of the ETA 2824-2. This Swiss made calibre has become a significant powerhouse for many of their contemporary collections including the new Hamilton American Classic Intra-Matic Auto watch. The movement is equipped with a high-tech silicon balance spring made of NivachronTM alloy, an exclusive material with superior resistance to magnetic fields which also assists in its formidable power reserve of 80 hours. The movement also delivers a frequency of 21,600vph and 25 jewels.
Continuing with its exterior, the Hamilton American Classic Intra-Matic Auto is dressed in polished stainless steel and measures to 40mm in diameter. It follows closely in profile to the Intra-Matic chronograph however with a slightly slimmer thickness of only 11mm. Sloped angled lugs and a vintage-inspired brown calfskin leather strap secure the piece firmly to the wrist while a closed case back and sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective treatment help assist in a water resistant rating of 50 metres. The sapphire crystal is also treated with an anti-reflective coating for optimum legibility of the handsome dial beneath.
