Armed with a strong belief that traditional craftsmanship would still have a place in the industry during the quartz crisis, Michel Parmigiani opened his Couvet based watch workshop in 1976. He would restore antique pieces by day and design complex horological pieces by night. Never doubting himself or his dream, Parmigiani Fleurier was launched twenty years to huge success. The brands appreciation for expert craftsmanship and avant-garde design has remained at the heart of the company all these years later. Honouring Michel's approach to watchmaking, the Parmigani Fleurier Toric Chronograph is based on the first watch made by the entrepreneur.
