It hasn't been your normal Easter Bank Holiday at W Hamond's in Whitby this weekend. Sure there have been a flurry of people visiting whilst the sun's out, and of course, lots of chocolate, but something else has been occurring in our boutique.
Love must have 
certainly been in the air on these cobbled streets this weekend, and most of it brewing in W Hamond. We kick started the wonderful weekend with a beautiful wedding breakfast in our Tearooms. The couple had been in the previous day, tempted by the Easter treats, and loved it so much that they returned the next day with their whole wedding party for breakfast! Of course, we were delighted to have them back, and the groom's shoes were certainly bobby dazzlers!

Following on from the lovely wedding breakfast we prepared, another couple popped into W Hamond for some Whitby Jet Jewellery. Who knew that a very special question was going to be 'popped' that day too! The couple bought their engagement ring from W Hamond this morning, and popped bac
k in the afternoon to pick it up after a re-size. Peter took Rita by surprise by getting down on one knee in the middle of the store, and asking for her hand in marriage, of course, she said YES!
The happy couple have planned their wedding in Australia. Where they used to live is where Captain James Cook landed on his voyage, which is why they wished for a Whitby Jet ring for an engagement ring, and luckily we had the perfect one! The whole team would like to wish Peter and Rita all the best in the future, and cannot wait to see some splendid wedding photos!

from W Hamond would like to say the BIGGEST congratulations to Paul and Sonia from Durham who made their commitment yesterday in W Hamond, proposing with one of our gorgeous Marcasite and Whitby Jet rings. Their love of Whitby and Whitby Jet made W Hamond the perfect place for Paul to propose.
It makes a job so rewarding when things like this happen, we don't just make beautiful jewellery, we make wonderful memories. Hopefully there will be many more happy times in W Hamond this summer!
