Combining one of the most popular dial colours of the last twelve months with a warm gold case, Bell & Ross have launched a new addition of their popular urban-inspired BR 05 model with the Bell & Ross BR 05 Green Gold watch. The design boasts a classic time-and-date display, a Swiss automatic winding movement and a 40mm 18 carat rose gold case.
The new Bell & Ross BR 05 Green Gold watch is the third solid gold instalment into the Parisian brand’s BR 05 collection, the former two differing for their black or blue dials. Following suit, the new 2023 release engineers its entire case, bezel and bracelet from 18 carat rose gold with satin-polished finishing. The case maintains the familiar soft-rounded square-like profile with a four-screw bezel, a screw down crown with crown guards and sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective treatment. The case back also features sapphire crystal glass for a view of the automatic winding movement within and we’re promised a 100 metre water resistant rating.
The only difference between the new Bell & Ross BR 05 Green Gold watch and its predecessor is its dial, now finished in a deep bottle green colour. In the press release, the Swiss watchmaker describes the colour as “the colour of trees – more precisely, that of the fir or spruce tree.” It has an almost luminous finish to it, thanks to the sunburst effect which extends out from the centre, which in turn allows the dial to change colour from an almost fluorescent shade all the way to a deep emerald green depending on the lighting. The colour is created using numerous coats of tinted green varnish. Applied on top of the Bell & Ross BR 05 Green Gold watch’s dial is a range of applied indices and numerals with luminescent inserts, two slender hands for the hours and minutes also with Superluminova spines and a needle-shaped seconds hand. There’s also the inclusion of a date window at 3 o’clock bordered by its own rose gold frame.
Powering the Bell & Ross BR 05 Green Gold watch is the BR-CAL.321 automatic winding movement, based on the tried-and-tested Sellita SW 300-1. As aforementioned, it is visible through the rear sapphire crystal where you can enjoy the stunning rose gold skeletonised rotor. The movement powers the hours, minutes, seconds and date function and provides a 42 hour power reserve and a frequency rate of 28,800vph.
Completing the Bell & Ross BR 05 Green Gold watch is an integrated bracelet designed entirely in satin-brushed gold with the small links boasting a polished finish. You can also order the watch on a green alligator leather strap which like the bracelet closes by a traditional folding buckle. The Bell & Ross BR 05 Green Gold watch retails for £20,600 on the leather strap and £30,900 on the solid gold bracelet.
