Our qualified team of jewellery valuers will provide you with a detailed jewellery valuation report of your most treasured possessions for either insurance purposes or today’s market value.
We will provide you with a folder including in depth descriptions, prices and photography of each item focusing on any unique elements which are instantly recognisable for replacement purposes in the unfortunate case of your jewellery being lost or stolen.
For any further information or advise please contact our Head Office on 01947603330 or call or visit one of our W Hamond boutiques.
Whatever type of valuation is requested, we will make only a modest charge for the service, giving you considerable peace of mind for a relatively small cost. The fee is usually based on a percentage charge, alternatively, either a time-based fee or a per-item charge. Post loss assessments are usually charged on a fixed fee or according to the time spent on them for more substantial cases. One of our valuers will be more than happy to discuss any costs for this specialised service.
Valuing your Jewellery
A valuation is an informed opinion based upon many years of experience allied with formal training in gemology, and other specialist areas of product knowledge. Valuations undertaken today need to be of the very highest standards governed by the National Association of Goldsmiths proven in their expertise with formal gemological qualifications and substantial experience within the industry. They must also conform to the requirements of equipment for gem testing/grading and hold a thorough library of reference material.
A valuation may typically include;
- Cleaning of the jewellery
- Detailed descriptions
- Details of the assessment of diamonds
- Hallmarking information
- Condition statement
- Provenance or research, if appropriate
- Visual images, usually digital
- Values with the appropriate type of insurance qualification
