Ancient Romans also joined in with this special celebration with their festival named Hilaria. Today, the special day is always held on the fourth Sunday of Lent. This 24-hour window represents the maternal bond between mother and child. It applies to all maternal figures like grandmothers and mother-in-laws too. In modern times, we have come to celebrate anyone who has carried out a maternal role. Maybe an aunt, an older sister or a foster parent.
The Evolution of the Locket Necklace
The history of locket-wearing spans centuries. These precious items have always been used for holding treasured keepsakes like photographs, locks of hair or small personal possessions.
