Welsh jewellery brand Clogau has interpreted the glittering, tumbling waters of Shallow Falls in North Wales into its own fine jewellery collection, combining strings of sterling silver and Welsh gold with sparkling white topaz and diamond.
Anyone that has visited Wales will agree that it is a place full of inspiration. Since their founding in 1897, Clogau has been inspired by the beauty of its home country; the spectacular landscapes on its doorstep, the rugged coastlines, towering peaks, rushing rivers and rolling farmland. As you can imagine, much of Clogau’s breathtaking jewellery collections are detailed with elements of nature including flowers, leaves, vines and birds, all of which are representative of the flora and fauna found in Wales.
One particular spot in North Wales that has greatly inspired the Clogau jewellery brand is Shallow Falls. Also known as Rhaeadr Ewynnol in Welsh, this magnificent waterfall is located in the village of Betws-y-Coed in North Wales and has become a popular tourist attraction, drawing visitors with its natural beauty and captivating surroundings. The falls are formed by the Afon Llugwy river as it cascades over a series of rocky steps and into a deep gorge. The water plunges approximately 50 feet (15 meters) in a stunning display of power. The force of the water creates a constant mist, adding an ethereal atmosphere to the area. The name "Swallow Falls" was chosen because of the way the water resembles the swallow bird and its darting movements in the sky. The cascading water, along with the lush greenery and moss-covered rocks, creates a picturesque setting that is truly awe-inspiring.
For those that want to experience the beauty of the waterfall for themselves, you can do so without even leaving your home. Thankfully, Clogau have reinterpreted the tumbling waters for us in a range of stunning Clogau Shallow Falls jewellery. The sterling silver and 9ct Welsh Gold rings, necklaces, earrings and bracelets cleverly mimic the water with intertwining strands of metal that appear as if they are flowing off your own skin. The designs are then set with dazzling white topaz or diamond to represent sunlight sparkling on the cascade.
There are plenty of stunning Clogau Shallow Falls jewellery pieces for you to enjoy. The Clogau Shallow Falls pendant comes in sterling silver or yellow gold with contrasting Welsh rose gold flowing through it, contrasting beautifully to its partner metal. The sterling silver variant adds touches of sparkle to the design with white topaz while the 18ct yellow gold and rose gold piece provides a touch more luxury with three real brilliant cut diamonds adorning its length. The Clogau Shallow Falls earrings offer the two same design options, with two elegant waves of gold or silver hanging from each lobe by a closed hook fastening.
There’s also a beautiful Clogau Shallow Falls bangle available which wraps gracefully around your wrist in strands of sterling silver and 9ct gold. The finely handcrafted strings of metal evoke the appearance of the waterfalls tumbling around our wrist, with dazzling white topaz adding to the water’s natural glisten. There are four round pieces of topaz on the bangle in total, three on the main cascading motif and a fourth, larger stone on the opposite side. The Clogau Shallow Falls bracelet is held securely in place by a hinged fastening.
