Seiko’s journey started in 1881 with entrepreneur, Kintaro Hattori. At 22 years of age, he opened a shop selling and repairing watches and clocks in central Tokyo. Kintaro was committed to perfection and innovation, which still exists 130 years later in everything that they do. A huge milestone in their success story was the launch of the Seiko Quartz Astron in 1969, which was the first commercial quartz watch that would change the industry forever. Today the luxury brand continues to develop their quartz movements alongside their Seiko automatic watches. The Seiko empire is a collaboration of luxury brands including Grand Seiko, Seiko Prospex, Seiko Presage and Seiko Astron that create innovative Seiko watches for men.
